Our mantra for dry rot is: If you see it, take care of it right away and fix today for hundreds of dollars or pay later thousands of dollars if you wait.
This is the one part of the construction business that makes us feel like “house doctors” more than any other part of remodeling. Basically a cancer is eating away on your property and there is only one way of fixing it:
The doctor “us” comes and cuts away all the bad wood and replaces it with new good wood. The good part for the home owner is that dry rot is always very obvious and it sells itself. The bad part is that if you can tell as a non professional that you have it most likely it already has progressed more than you can see.
Some times smart people call us right away and we find dry rot on siding, for example, and can prevent damage to the framing of the property and that is when it gets really expensive,
Some times we do deals with home owners for a certain amount of money and hours and time to expose the damage and after that we give you an estimate for the repairs.
If after that you choose after that a different company to fix the damage, that is fine. There will be no commitment to go with us all the way.
